RESUME

Mr. DAI began by explaining that from our task we were able to solve complex problems, even prevent earthquakes. The occurrence of an earthquake results from frequency. There is a so-called natural frequency which is the frequency that causes disintegration of an object. Then we in one class must have one understanding, that is, if it is likened to a frequency, all resonate at the same frequency.

Data → Information → Knowledge → Knowledge ah Wisdom

He reminded that the above stage is an objective framework in the class of engineering computing.

When someone cheats, they tend to blame Satan. But how do we know that Satan is real. He had mentioned how the calculus was made whether Newton in England or Leibniz in Germany, to explain the concept of higher thinking. However, to justify the existence of demons which are inherently difficult to define, the scriptures are a source of reference.

He mentioned that in the previous computational techniques the teaching system was by enlightening algorithms and analysis, while this time it was more directed to guiding and giving problems so that the processes and frameworks of thinking we could do ourselves

Radical definition:

  1. Study to the deepest elements
  2. Activities that are too extreme

If a method on TV does not provide a solution steps then it does not make an analysis, where the analysis results in the form of solution steps, and the results of the analysis are procedures which lead to solution.

Complex problems → Problem analysis → modeling → computer simulation → check results, verify validation → (ok) solutions and recommendations

Verification: checking mathematically Are we solving the modeling correctly, we assume the equation is theoretically correct

Validation: do we solve the correct equation with the actual equation

Computing techniques are an art of how we fiction. Dimensionality, if we consider one dimension a complex system can be simplified.

ASSIGNMENT

Introduction

In a living house construction project time and expenditure become crucial as price keep increasing while wages might not keep up. Some questions whether their choice has been the most suitable or not. Therefore, economic analysis plays important role in determining which material and component, method of construction, scheduling, and other supporting items. Managerial skill of a consultant is put on the line for this case. Sort framework in this assignment will be price of an example of house construction, method of optimization, and optimized price and time of house construction.

Objective

This research is going to yield the optimum price and time in a housing project by using Critical Path Method (CPM).

Method

We start with gathering and collecting data, in this case a renovation from Mrs. Sari House on June 9th, 2008 obtained from internet. The draft budget are composed with 2 floor, while as our concerned only on the optimization, hence, only the refurbishment of the first floor is calculated. As working time is not mentioned, we will have a rational assumption for that purpose. After that, we construct the working network, followed with data analysis using CPM method.

Method in step by step
Data

Below are the data obtained followed with the assumption of working days taken from start until the finishing of the project. All the details are just component to elaborate the type of assignment cost. As we are aware that we only focus on the optimization of the type of assignment, we present the network construction.

Here we add Roof as additional item to illustrate a single house for Rp 10.000.000, doors for Rp 5.000.000, mechanical and plumbing for Rp 4.000.000 because such thing is missing from the data.

Crashing Calculation
Crashing calculation.png

Cost = normal price + crashing price from assignment A, B, C, D, E, F, J, L
Cost = 69,000,000 + (200,000 × 3) + (40,000 × 4) + (400,000 × 4) + (900,000 × 5) + (600,000 × 4) + (1,250,000 × 2) + (700,000 × 3) + (700,000 × 1)
Cost = 83,560,000
Time = 120 days

Conclusion

Having this method, we could find with an increase for 14,000,000 we could achieve a shorter 26 days for construction which is considerably quicker compared to the stipulated time. This cost-time analysis gives insight of how to reach an optimum point of working on some project based on CPM method.
