Abstract

In the present study, research has been planned to investigate the stress concentration factor of open hole tensile specimens of lontar fiber-reinforced composites on simulation-based work. To do so, a predecessor works of tests were conducted to establish the tensile strength of an open hole of lontar fiber-reinforced composites. The lontar fiber composite specimen was rectangular type based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D5766 and has been designed using ANSYS SpaceClaim 2019 R2. CAD software. The designed open hole tensile specimen then to be meshed and simulated using ANSYS Mechanical 2019 R3 using data obtained from predecessor works to gain the stress spread.
